Former U.S. President Donald Trump misreported gifts from countries like China and Saudi Arabia while in office. The gifts are estimated at 291,000 dollars, or approximately 275,000 euros. That's according to the Democratic members of the US House of Representatives Committee.

By law, the president must officially declare gifts worth more than $415. These gifts are the property of the US government. For higher value personal gifts, the recipient has the option of buying them from the government and keeping them. In all cases, gifts must be publicly declared. But that was not done in Trump's case, the report said.

Among the undeclared gifts, there is for example a Saudi dagger worth 24,000 dollars. Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law who, under the ex-president worked as a White House aide, would have bought this dagger. But for other gifts such as the life-size portrait of Trump, donated by his counterpart in El Salvador, and golf clubs donated by then-Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the blurring remains.

The House Committee wants to know if these undeclared gifts had an influence on the foreign policy of the United States and, if so, what was this influence
